Horizons Students are Future History Makers

Posted on

Happy Black History Month!

At Horizons National, we're focusing on the future of history: the emerging teachers, doctors, authors, inventors, and community leaders who are currently learning and growing in Horizons programs across the country. We're committed to telling the authentic stories of these incredible young people and learning about their goals, inspirations, and where to find them in the history books!

Meet Future History Makers Ahzaria, Maliyah, and Jett!

Meet Ahzaria, future defense attorney! Ahzaria is a graduate of Horizons Hampton Roads (VA).

"I currently am a senior attending Howard University as a double major in Criminology and Psychology. My graduation year is May 2022. My passion is to become a defense attorney, [and] Horizons has influenced me to want to create mentor programs for youth."

Meet Maliyah, future inventor! Maliyah is in 3rd grade at Horizons at The Ethel Walker School (CT).

"I love to create stuff. I want to be an inventor that makes something to help the world. I will make something that helps people. I hope to be a fun, open minded, educated, strong, caring, healthy person in the future."

Meet Jett, future summer learning champion! Jett is in 3rd grade at Horizons Brooklyn (NYC).

"Horizons Brooklyn gives me the chance to meet new people that help make our community awesome. I hope to one day continue this work by bringing fun and engaging summer activities to kids in my neighborhood."
